The yet to be released iPhone 5 will have an 8-pin dock connector according to leaked images posted on a French website Nowhereelse.fr a few days ago.
Two sources claim, Apple’s new iPhone new dock connector will feature only 8-pins amidst contrasting reports that the new connector will be a 19-pin or a 16-pin one. The original dock connector found on current Apple devices has 30-pins.
There have been rumors about new iPhone for the past few months with reports saying that the new iPhone 5 will have its display stretched to 4-inches than the current 3.5-inch found on the iPhone 4/4S. Besides the new iPhone will be equipped NFC chip and the much awaited 4G LTE compatibility for much faster data transfers and newly designed dock connector.
Speaking of dock connector iMore.com first claimed that the new iPhone will replace its proprietary 30-pin dock connector will a newer and smaller 19-pin dock connector. The site also said that the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini is expected to be unveiled on September 12.
However, Apple has neither confirmed nor denied any of the claims.
Lastly, in line with the launch and unveiling of the iPhone 5 we will see the introduction of iOS 6, Apple’s latest mobile operating system. One of the highly anticipated features of the iOS 6 is the Apple’s own built-in Maps app.
