According to DigiTimes, the production of the Apple iPhone 5c has reportedly taken another hit. First, at the beginning of October, there have been rumors that Apple is reducing its production of the iPhone 5c because of poor demand and sales.
Now, recently we have learned that the Cupertino-based tech giant is cutting the production of the iPhone 5c at Foxconn’s factory in Zhengzhou, China from 50,000 units per day to only 8,000 units per day.
Now, a new report kicked in, which suggested that the same Zhengzhou factory will cease production of the iPhone 5c for good and will be manufacturing the iPhone 5s instead.
Apple announced the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c in Sept. 10.
Even though the company’s sales and earnings are still very high, we didn’t know how the all plastic build iPhone 5c; nick named “The Wingman”, fared in the market, as Apple didn’t provide any breakdown of sales of the model.
However, it appears that the iPhone 5c isn’t doing very good after all, something that isn’t going to surprise anyone. The company’s earnings strong, and though, the iPhone 5s is doing incredibly well, which was the main plan all along.
If Apple fails to respond to the disappointing sales of the iPhone 5c, this indicates that the company was never meant to diversity its product portfolio, but make sure that the iPhone 5s gets all the attention it needs.
