Apple Inc, might integrate a new and smaller dock connector in all its upcoming iOS devices in September, a report says.
Speculation are going on for months that Apple will be launching a new iPhone with a small dock connector than the current iPhone and now, its reported by iMore.com that the new dock connector will be available on all iPods, iPads and the much anticipated iPad Mini.
Moreover, reports also say that Apple will host an event on September 12 to announce the launch of the new iPhone. There is also news that Apple will also showcase the new iPod Nano, iPod Touch and the iPad Mini.
iMore.com, also says that there is also a possibility that a new version of the iPad with the new connector may also be released at the event though the rumors lack backups. If this is true, then the new iPad launch would come by for less than a year since its current model the iPad 3. This will be a first time for Apple as its traditionally sticks to introduce new products on a yearly basis.
However, if Apple comes up with the new dock connector then the accessories manufacturers have to make products for the new devices and also for the older devices too. Consumers will also have to buy new accessories too as their older cables won’t be compactable with new iOS devices.
Nevertheless, the new dock connector size remains a mystery. Rumors say it can be 19-pin or 16-pin and even a 8-pin one. Current iOS devices have a 30-pin connector.
